Weekly Japanese Study Group

This is an opportunity to practice Japanese conversation, and discuss and study the grammar, particles, Kanji, and culture. The topic varies among all these, according to what people are interested in talking about and the natural flow of conversation.

Members of all levels are welcome, from absolute beginners on up, and there is never a prerequisite. Native speakers are also encouraged to attend, both to lend their expertise and to receive the benefit of a look at the structure of Japanese from an outside linguistic perspective.

Here's a photo of the area where we meet, for reference:

The meeting is free, with no membership dues, hourly costs, or other expenses.

Help! I am hoping to find 2-3 native Japanese speakers who are OPI (Oral Proficiency Interview) certified to evaluate a spoken Japanese test for a pilot study on Japanese language acquisition I am conducting at Columbia U. this month. I expect it would require a total time commitment of approximately 45 minutes to one hour, and of course the raters would be paid. Could you please pass this information on to anybody you know who might be OPI certified and interested? Thanks!

    Best wishes,
