I recently got this email. I can't make it, but if anyone wants to organize a gathering to see it, just suggest it!
Charlie's email follows:
Hi, I'm the Executive Director for the Friars Club Comedy Film Festival. In an effort to create greater awareness for our film festival and our Japanese films, I wanted to personally reach out to you and your group to extend complimentary passes to Pot of Good Fortune. The director will be flying in from Japan to do a Q&A about his film after the screening.
The complimentary tickets are available on a first-come, first-serve basis. If any of your members are interested, they can request the free tickets by emailing [address removed].
We also have a bunch of other great movies, including the following Asian movies. For many of our films, cast members will be in attendance.
Red Light Revolution
-- The director is flying from China to do a Q&A on his film after the screening. We are also able to offer a limited number of complimentary tickets to this film.
Almost Perfect which stars Kelly Hu and Edison Chen. They, along with much of the cast, are anticipated to be in attendance.
-- Seats are limited for that one, unfortunately, so we're unable to offer any further complimentary tickets.
If you're able to generally push out an email about our festival to all of your members, we can also create a discount code for them for our all access passes. Also, we'd be pleased to offer you and the other organizers complimentary all-access passes. The all-access passes get you into every film plus the parties.
Please Note: If you hit "REPLY", your message will be sent to everyone on this mailing list ([address removed])
