I received this email from Jim to forward to the group:

Hey Mitch,
My name is Jim Carter and I am a film production student at Hofstra University on Long Island. For my senior thesis I will be making a Japanese Language movie in New York City in early April of 2012. I came across your meetup page and thought it may be of interest to your group...

Casting a Japanese Language film in New York City presents problems due to the small amount of Japanese-speaking actors working in New York City. To overcome this problem we will be allowing first-time actors to audition for main roles, provided they speak Japanese fluently or can be coached by a fluent japanese speaker to speak small lines.

Would you be willing to help us contact these potential actors? Maybe someone in your meetup group would like to audition, or perhaps they have a family member or friend that would be interested. Anyone interested may email me directly at [address removed] and the producer will contact them to schedule an audition.

The film's official casting calls can be found online at www.jimcarterfilms.com/castingcalls.htm
Thank you very much and I look forward to hearing from you soon.

Sincerely,
Jim Carter
