Open Seattle Japanese Language and Culture Meetup

This week, we're at a little Cantonese joint in the International District, where we'll order a ton of food to share.

I have another event once a month that I try to get to at Getty Images, which is now my employer, so I'm going to try to go to at least part of that before coming over to our usual Thursday night gathering.

If you have any dietary restrictions, please make a note in your RSVP, otherwise, we'll order a nice assortment of meaty, seafoody and vegetable dishes.

Prices should be pretty cheap. Please bring cash, because your credit card should be reserved for less complicated situations than sharing a meal with 20 people, like breaking out of prison.

Bus access is easy with anything and everything that goes through the Metro transit tunnel, including light rail, or the Sounder train line. Parking can be a bit tricky but sometimes works out just fine; consider looking along Main if closer options don't work out.

I promise Nijikai won't be at Joe's, because I like you and want you to survive the evening. I'd vote for some combination of Maekawa and Fort Ste. George, but those of you with poor judgment and high tolerance for poorly balanced cocktails and high pitched squealing may prefer to do bad Karaoke in front of strangers at Bush Garden.

Hey Everyone--I know tihs is very short notice, but a friend has her brother coming from Japan this weekend and he would like to learn some English while he's here. H's willing to pay/exchange language. He's around 48, single Japanese man, plans to stay downtown for the next week. If you're interested or know where he can go for the help, please email me for contact info. Thanks
