Open Seattle Japanese Language and Culture Meetup

This is our first-ever restaurant meetup in Southwest Seattle, which is a surprise because I think I've done events in almost every other Seattle neighborhood.

I think it's totally worth the trip, because we're heading to Uncle Mike's. This is the only barbecue joint I know of to offer barbecued tofu, so both meat eaters and vegetarians should find plenty of good stuff. They do inexpensive sandwiches or big plate meals. If you're not so into the hickory-smoky BBQ stuff, there's also some typical Southern food available too.

Normally, this joint closes pretty early, but they're staying open until 9pm to accommodate us. I'm adjusting the start time to get a bit earlier start. I'll be there at 7, but if you need to come at the usual time, it'll be ok.

Pricing is super reasonable. You can order separately, but you may want to gang up with other people so that you can share different things.

This restaurant is located near Delridge/White Center, and is easily accessible via bus routes 60, 113, 120, 128, and 560. Street parking is super-easy.

Since this is out of our usually beaten path, if you need a lift home, let me know which neighborhood you're in and I'll try to find someone who can get you back home.

Nijikai will probably be at either Mac's Triangle Pub, Marv's Broiler, or Company.

I'm going to stop in at nearby Company for pre-meetup at roughly 6pm. I'll probably be sipping a Martinique Crusta, a variation of the Hemingway Daiquiri, or an Old Fashioned. Feel free to drop by if you like.

This place is delicious :) Funny that the first location I've been to before is also the furthest away.
