This week, we'll visit a reincarnated Mexican joint in Queen Anne so that you can get your carnitas on, if that's what you dig, you know, a chile relleno, if you're like me and don't do the animal bits.
Prices are super reasonable. Yelp says good things, which I find surprising because I ate at the predecessor here, which was merely ok. Anyway, I think it'll be worth a try.
Because it's a Mexican joint, most of the dishes are big plates of food meant for irresponsible individual consumption. Accordingly, we'll order separately, but please remember to bring cash so that I can settle the bill more efficiently, and so you don't get bitten by an irritable toddler when he's trying to remind you that it's his bedtime.
Bus access is super easy with most west Queen Anne routes, including 1, 2, 8, 13, Rapid Line D, 15, 17, 18, 19, 24, and 33. Parking can be a bit of a bear; the further west you go, the better, generally speaking. There are also some inexpensive paid lots nearby. There's apparently a private lot for the restaurant, as well; that may help you for dinner, but perhaps a bit less for nijikai.
Nijikai will probably be at Tini Bigs or Hula Hula. I'll probably have a "pre-kai" at Hula Hula, even though I'd prefer to be at 10 Mercer.
