Open Seattle Japanese Language and Culture Meetup

Shiori is doing her belly-dance routine this week at Marrakesh, so we're going to be spectators this week.

Because this place has a simple set menu for large groups that features something like 5 or 6 courses, food will be exactly $26/person including tax and tip. Bring well-washed fingers, but there will be some orange blossom- or rose- scented water to start the meal.

If you order a drink other than the mint tea that comes around dessert time, we'll handle that separately. Please bring at least $26 in cash to make settling the bill easier. Kojiro will scowl at you if you bring a credit card at his usual bedtime, because this is not a place that's very fast at juggling a dozen Visa cards. It's polite to bring some bills to tip the dancer as well.

Please make a note in your RSVP or email Jason if you prefer vegetarian options, as we need to pre-order (around 7pm) on the night of the event, and they like to know how many vegetarians there are so that they can prepare their vegetarian mince pastry and the couscous and all that.

I'm going to pre-kai at Rob Roy next door at about 5:30pm. There are good cocktails and goldfish crackers during happy hour, so come and join me if you like. I'll head over to to Marrakesh about 7:15pm.

Nijikai may be at the Rendezvous or Shorty's, unless our resident Belltown denizens have other whims.

Jason, I have 2-4 guests but not sure if they are all comfortable speaking English, they should be, can I sign up for total 5, I would like to join you and watching Shiori's belly dancing but we may or may not get a table for ourselves, will it be okay??

It's probably better to just join us; we've got a reservation already (for 20). We'll end up with a table for each 4 or 5 people anyway, so if your friends don't speak English or Japanese at all, they can just rearrange themselves...
