Java Monitoring: What to do When Good Programs Go Bad

"Java Monitoring: What to do When Good Programs Go Bad"

What happens when your Java application all of a sudden runs slowly or worse it hangs... and your users are screaming bloody murder? How can you tell where the problem is so you can go home at a normal time to enjoy a cold beer and watch cats play the piano on youTube?

Martin Stone, Senior Engineer from AppDynamics will present an overview of the Java monitoring landscape. Martin will review the pros and cons of various free monitoring tools on the market (what they do, what they can't, and what features you have to pay for). He will also discuss the landscape of commercial monitoring, and best Java monitoring practices at large enterprises such as Netflix.

Great talk on java monitoring. And great job by the speaker from Appdynamics (Martin). I would have liked to review the standard tools that come with the JDK first though.
