I have interest in this project. I think the former Titanium Desktop project is struggling (www.tidesdk.org)- this one seems healthy. Any experience with it yet?

I haven't actually used it yet -- just came across it and thought it was relevant.

I have had some things come up where I won't be able to attend tomorrow. I am happy to arrange with Pepi's pizza to deliver, beer might be a challenge due to logistics... please email me an inside phone number for the pizza guy: [masked]

I can slap together a half-hour presentation if you guys still need someone to talk about web animations. Let me know.

    October 7, 2013

    • Erick Daniel C.

I'd say if you need 30 mins, do it for the next one, because Express + node-webkit + headlines + announcements (at least one demo from a startup) is all ready a good amount of content.

      October 7, 2013

    • Doug S.

Ok, I'll do it next time then, if there's still interest then.

yeah, I'll try to get a microphone with better reception.

I will still bring my other mic, I still have to put together some circuits for a different mic but not in time for the meeting. so thank you. 50 + people now wow. No horse shoe table arrangement this time.

I have class until 7pm... is it okay if I come a little late?

    October 7, 2013

    • Erick Daniel C.

Yes, although there may be no one at the entrance to open the door for you. If that's the case, post a message here and I'm sure one of us will see the notification and come to the entrance.

My bad, I think I'm directly responsible for 10-15 extra bodies. I'll ask around and see if I can rustle up sponsors if need be. As for venue it's tough past 75.

      October 5, 2013

well at the prior numbers of 20, a case of beer and some food was that pricey but if we get to 100 :) well ...

I spoke with Logan in person, I don't think he's getting these Meetup notifications. He said he was very likely going to be available on the evening of October 8th. It didn't sound like he was going to do a long talk so does anyone else want to give a talk? Perhaps on something more "introductory" (as Greg proposed)? But I think we can go ahead and set the date to October 8 and the venue to the Atlas room in the Communitech hub.

As for extra topics.. what about something surrounding javascript and web animations? Anyone feel comfortable putting short presentation together on this?

      1 · September 27, 2013

    • Alex

I am tempted to do the animations talk but I am still in the learning phase myself - perhaps next time.

Anyone interested in a talk on node-webkit?

    October 3, 2013

    • Akshay J.

      I wouldn't mind, but I don't have a MiniDisplayPort-VGA adapter to present. 10-15 minute talk okay?

      October 5, 2013

    • Erick Daniel C.

Yeah sounds good, we'll have an adaptor for you. Show up at 7 on the dot or a bit earlier so we can make sure your presentation displays properly

      October 5, 2013

  • Erick Daniel C.

So Logan tells me that he'll be doing a talk that lasts about 30 mins. And I'll keep my list of "news items" to 10, to shorten it from last time. I've asked around a bit for anyone who could give a talk in animation. Doug Sherk said he could do one, but next week is pretty busy for him so he'd prefer doing it next month.

      September 27, 2013

Communitech is more accessible than TribeHR believe it or not. You do an elevator plus door for TribeHR. Unless there is a specific reason to change venue, I think we should be as consistent as possible. But I'm fine either way... I'll let the local developers take care of location. Let's just nail it down and make the change if it is changing.

    September 23, 2013

  • Erick Daniel C.

How long will Logan's talk be? Do we need to ask for other presenters? I know Greg suggested we should try to include a talk that covers more basic JS stuff than what we've done lately.

    September 23, 2013

  • Erick Daniel C.

if you guys want, I booked the same room at the Communitech Hub for our last 2 meetups for October 8th (first thursday of October was booked). But I have no problem with a change of venue, since the Communitech room isn't the most obvious to access, I can just cancel my booking. I kind of want to check out the TribeHR office anyways lol

    September 23, 2013

  • Alex

    when is this ?:)

    August 29, 2013

    • James B.

I guess that depends on Logan's availability? Oct 3rd? (consistent with this month's first thursday in september)

      August 30, 2013

  • Logan F.

My company (oikoi.co) uses node.js and express to power all of our web-facing servers. I'd be happy to share what I know!

    August 27, 2013

    • James B.

Logan, that would be awesome! Thanks for offering!

      August 27, 2013

  • Greg M.

Hi Ian, I think we will be 25 to 30 by this point. We had 20 last month and a meetup in between.

    August 27, 2013

  • Ian R.

We can host it at TribeHR again. Pls post the date ASAP so we can make sure we've got the logistics covered for letting people into the building.
