May 28 - A Very Special Night with Xamarin's Zack Gramana!

  • May 28, 2013 · 6:00 PM
  • Bank of America

"Write once, run anywhere." It's the "have your cake and eat it too" panacea for dealing with a world full of different computing platforms. It's also a faustian bargain that ends up catering to the lowest common denominator. Architects should instead focus on highlighting what is unique about each platform they target while reusing as much code as possible. We'll see how, using Xamarin to build a native mobile application that targets two very different platforms: iOS and Android. Oh, and did I mention I'll be giving away a Xamarin Indie license, along with t-shirts and monkeys?

Zack Gramana works with the other monkeys at Xamarin. He lives in the Component Store, and swings from the rafters in his spare time."

Massive thanks to Zach and Xamarin for highlighting this months meeting and to TEK Systems once again for sponsoring pizza and drinks at our event. We will also have drawings for JetBrains, Mindscape and Telerik software and Pluralsight access passes!!!

Reminder: The meeting begins at 6:00 PM (networking), 6:30 PM (presentation) For a list of past speakers and presentation over the last 2 years, please visit

who was it there that was sounding like he's developing games here in town? Also I was sad we didn't have a go around the room and recruiter talk of any sort to kick-off.
