You can watch German TV broadcasts live, e.g. from ARD.de or canned from their Mediathek via the internet here in the US.

Thanks for that info. I really will have to find out what a Roku box is. (No problem: I have friends with a teenage son.)

Tageshau is available for "free" if you have a Roku box.  I watch that frequently.

Greetings, Frank,

Thanks for bringing this up. I, for one, would be glad to pay $3 - $5 a month for a daily German newscast, both for the perspective and for the language practice.

Unless it became part of Comcast cable, I guess I would watch in on my PC monitor, since I am a bit of a Luddite where phones are concerned. All mine does is make and receive calls.

Again, thanks for the idea and the effort.

Dear fellow group members,

some friends and I are currently evaluating the prospects of a start up business that deals with foreign TV in the US. As you
might or might not have noticed the choice of especially German TV is very poor. As far as I know there's only a couple of
channels available that come along with quite expensive packages.

I would like know from this group how they would feel about having access to international / German live stream TV channels
over the Internet that can be subscribed to individually at low cost per channel ($3-$5) with monthly billing and 'no contract'.

The channels would be accessible through various applications on PC/tablet/phone/game console/Android/Apple and of course on applications
built into modern smart TVs.

Imagine something like Netflix for live international TV. Our vision is to provide a huge number of channels that is far beyond what any TV network
is currently offering.

1.) Would that be something you would be interested in ?

2.) What would you like to see ? What would you not like to see ?

3.) What would be your preferred interface/platform ?

4.) Would you be willing to pay a monthly fee per subscribed channel ? If yes, how many channels would you potentially subscribe to ?

The anonymous results of this poll - and polls among other groups -  will be presented at the Jacksonville Start-up weekend in two weeks where we will be
competing with other teams to win with the best start-up idea 2013. Presenting results of polls like this will help us to prove us the marketability of our idea.

Please send your brief response to [address removed]

Thanks you for your help.

Best regards

Frank Bruemmer
