Don Myers Presents: My First Facebook

Lets dive into Facebook face first! Keep reading: this is NOT going to be super technical. We will not be cracking the Matrix or racing Tron bikes. This is stuff that you can do for yourself and your clients to bring real value to them immediately.

What we will be covering in the meeting will be the basics of a simple custom page tab within your Facebook page. This page will be able to display content such as text and images and have some basic functionality. We will be using some simple FBML, HTML and CSS. This is a working/learning meeting!

  • You will need to have a Facebook account already created. (We suggest a test account or a test page)
  • You should have access to your server so you can upload your own custom CSS file.
  • You will have access to a CSS stylesheet residing on the web if you cannot access your own server.

When we are done you will have a page that you customize for you or your clients. This will not be a deep technical discussion of the Facebook platform. This will be an intermediate level exercise, so it should be fun for everyone.

It will be fun, we promise!
