Modis (CIT Building)
In February we reprised a baby-steps demo of basic concepts behind a PHP/MySQL web application. Now I'd like to build on our subsequent meetups and expand our demo application to use a simple MVC framework.
To review: in April we went on to talk about PHP classes and object-oriented programming (OOP), reviewed a very simple OOP, Model-View-Controller (MVC) Framework and had a really good conversation about the concepts behind MVC and practical applications.
Then in May and June, Imre and Kunal introduced us to two sophisticated PHP, OOP, MVC frameworks suitable for medium- to-large PHP web applications: Yii and Symfony.
So now let's rework our baby-steps demo to use an MVC framework, one I hope is both useful and transparent enough to stimulate another good conversation.
