Let's talk about JavaScript

I don't want to ask anyone to present anything on the eve of the 4'th, in case nobody shows up. But I'll be at the Panera on Roosevelt ready to talk about JavaScript.

Here's my story. When I started writing html JavaScript had barely been invented. Then I thought it was more trouble than it was worth for data-driven web sites. Then Ajax began a love-hate relationship with JavaScript, until I got hooked on jQuery.

So I only recently started getting serious with JavaScript. And mostly because it's everywhere now: client, server, mobile platforms, etc., etc.

What about you? Let's talk about what we're all doing with JavaScript now.

I didn't notice anyone off the bat.

I was afraid that might have happened. I probably should have noted that it wasn't our old regular hangout. We missed you!

Did you recognize anyone else there?

A light turnout, as expected pre-holiday, but good conversation: JavaScript (plain and OO); jQuery; AngularJS (demo by Imre); semantic html; PHP getters and setters. Then after we closed Panera: A Universe from Nothing; quantum computers; Microsoft Singularity and why Jax closes so early...
