While at 7 bridges I brought up that there was a Microsoft javscript library that was really good (found out about it at the mswds) and that people should check out. Well I was both right and wrong. Turns out it is an AJAX library not a javascript library but it is still really cool (oh and ignore the name).

So here is the low down on it (taken from meeting notes) if you are interested:
1) library for building rich AJAX apps
2) Compatible with all modern browsers including Microsoft Internet Explorer (6+), Google Chrome, Apple Safari, Opera, and Mozilla Firefox.
3) Includes pure client library for ASP.NET MVC, PHP, or pure HTML applications.
4) part of codeplex so it is open source and accepts contributions. BSD license.
5) Features:
* Powerful client data access library
* Rich set of client controls
* Seamless jQuery integration

Name: ASP.NET Ajax Library (not ASP.NET related so go figure)
Download it at: http://ajax.codeplex....

Thank you Ligaya,

What does make this really cool is the Microsoft Ajax content delivery network (CDN)

Microsoft Ajax Content Delivery Network

It only takes 5 or 10k to make Ajax do anything you want. It is the 50k to 1,000k of Javascript features that makes the libraries cool for someone who does not mind an extra 100k or more of bandwidth usage per visitor (and then wonder why their site is a bit slow).

Do feel the CDN option makes this library worth looking into as there are many nice features.
