Picnic Potluck in Mandarin!

Join us for a picnic potluck at Walter Jones Historical Park in beautiful Mandarin. The park includes a restored farmhouse, barn, outbuildings, sawmill, nature trail along a riverfront boardwalk, picnic area and restrooms. We’ll be meeting at pavilion #2. The temperature should be in the low to mid 80’s but there’s plenty of shade around the covered pavilion!

Bring a picnic blanket or chair to sit upon in case we run out of picnic table space.

Please Bring...

*A Raw Vegan HOMEMADE App/Soup/Entree/Dessert that feeds at least 8 (Standard pot-luck etiquette: one dish per Adult guest- little ones are exempt)

* No honey in the dishes, please

*A serving utensil

*Bring drinks for yourself

*Please make something yourself, no store-bought trays please!

*Organic if possible would be great, thanks!

Contributions of disposable plates, cups, utensils are gratefully accepted (we don't charge for Meetups) - or bring your own non-disposable dinnerware for yourself so that we won't contribute to the landfills.

See you there!

Here is the easy marinara recipe from the book "Rapid Raw": Marinara

    - 1 c Sun-dried Tomatoes in 1c water until soft (30 min) with soak water
    - 1c chopped tomatoes
    - 1/2 c chopped Carrots
    - 3 T Olive Oil
    - 2 T minced Oregano and Parsley
    - 2 T Nama Shoyu
    - 1 T each Rosemary and Thyme
    - 1-2 cloves Garlic
    Blend.
    Serve over Veggie noodles.
    --------------------------------------------------
I added a topping of sliced Olives. I also made a Cheeze topping:
    - 1 cup Walnuts, ground in coffee grinder
    - 1 1/2 cup Nutritional Yeast flakes
    - 1 t Pink Himalyan Sea Salt
    Stir
Add more Nutritional Yeast or Salt to taste.

We just grab a coffee and speak French. Some people have been coming every week for months... it creates a kind of warmth to the group.
