The Bossanova Ballroom presents
A Tribute to the music of Harry James and Frank Sinatra
Performed by Chuck Par-Due and the Mike Curtis Project (15 piece Big Band including former members of the Harry James Orchestra)
Special guest vocalist Cheryl Morris (former vocalist with Harry James, Tex Beneke, Ray McKinley, and others)
Chuck Par-Due is a vocalist in the Frank Sinatra style, and a trumpet player in the Harry James style. Chuck has performed his Sinatra tribute all across America. Chuck has performed for Presidents Ronald Reagan, Gerald Ford and George Bush I. He has also performed with many jazz greats including Helen Forrest, Bob Haggart, Phil Urso and many more.
Chuck Par-Due and the Mike Curtis Jazz Project will be performing the original arrangements of the Harry James orchestra to re-create the sounds of the greatest trumpet player of all time...Harry James. Chuck re-creates "You Made Me Love You", "I'm Beginning to See the Light", "It's Been a Long, Long Time", "Sleepy Lagoon" and many other Harry James hits. In addition, Chuck and the band will be performing such Frank Sinatra hits as I’ll Be Seeing You, My Way, New York, New York and others.
Based in Portland, Oregon, Mike Curtis formed The Mike Curtis Jazz Project out of his love for big band jazz. Influences include Buddy Rich, Stan Kenton, Maynard Ferguson, Gordon Goodwin, Woody, Miles, Diz, all of the usual suspects!
