Second Sundays: Cool Jazz Open Jam @ Robin's Nest, Linden

Whenever we show up at Robin's Nest we're greeted with open arms. The place has a vibe like family and we want to support that. And it doesn't hurt that the jam session atmosphere lets everyone join in the fun. Musicians and vocalists are invited to get on stage and join the band for a few songs.

We've already had several members grace us with their talents and it's always fun to see someone you know join the band for a few numbers.

There is no cover and the food is excellent, so bring an appetite!

If you come early enough, you can find parking in the lot adjacent to the building. When it fills up, though, there are plenty of side streets nearby where you can find parking without a problem.

Hope to see you there!

peace and jazz,

Special Directions

Use your GPS to locate 3103 Tremley Point Road, Linden, NJ.

If your GPS takes you on Stiles Street or Lower Road, you will likely encounter a roadblock for a temporary construction project. For some reason, the roadblock is set up about 1/2 a mile before the actual construction project.

Just continue driving past the first roadblock and your directions should get you to Robin's Nest without any trouble.

Don't worry - you'll see the actual construction ahead of time. It's work on a small bridge and there's no way you'll accidentally get into trouble.

Dedication to Al and Robin, big fans of Robin's Nest. I found this out recently when Karen and I had dinner with them. I hadn't seen Al and Robin in a few months and it appears that we discovered Robins Nest around the same time, but going on different nights. We promised each other to finally go to Robin's Nest together. Unfortunately, Al passed away two weeks ago, after a 7 year battle with cancer, so our date never materialized. But I will never go to Robin's Nest again without thinking about Al- a great father, husband and person. What a mench he was.

Oh, Maurice. That's so sad! I don't think I knew Al, but from your writeup, he sounds like a great guy. Very sad to hear this. :(

My uncle, visiting from Colombia is a HUGE jazz fan. He really enjoyed himself and couldn't stop raving about the variety and quality of musicians.

When Robin heard we had an overseas visitor, she took extra special care of us and made us feel like visiting family. We can't recommend Robin's Nest highly enough!
