Second Sundays: Cool Jazz Open Jam @ Robin's Nest, Linden

Robin's Nest in Linden is truly one of the friendliest venues we've ever been to. Walk in once and you're part of the family.

Plus, it doesn't hurt that the open jam session lets everyone join in the fun. Musicians and vocalists are invited to get on stage and join the band for a few songs.

We've already had several members grace us with their talents and it's always fun to see someone you know join the band for a few numbers.

There is no cover and the food is excellent, so bring an appetite!

If you come early enough, you can find parking in the lot adjacent to the building. When it fills up, though, there are plenty of side streets nearby where you can find parking without a problem.

Just a warning about parking: It's a small lot and double parking is common. If you are on a time schedule, it's best to park on the street so you don't get blocked in. The area around the club is very safe and there is plenty of space on the side streets in the area.

Hope to see you there!

peace and jazz,
D.A.

Maria is a regular Zelig! Good job Dave. I am glad that Maria was able to join us, even if in only 2 dimensional form.

I like our group shot. Too bad Maria's not in it. Maybe you can photoshop her in.

On further review, forget about scheduling for December, at least for me. I'm getting to schedule a Sunday Christmas dinner with my boys on one of the remaining December Sundays. See you in January. We'll have to chant for "no snow" then.

Maria, I totally vote you choreographer! And, despite my newness, I will join the Robinette's. We are at least 2/3 the way to backup trio already! Plus, I've been eager to go to the German American Club (I haven't been). Let me know when there is an event. The jam at Robin's Nest was fun. I'm so glad I came. wonderful people. Great Music.

Klutz? Don't forget that I have seen you dance at venues as hoppin' as the Roxy and the German-American Club. I have full confidence in recommending you as choreographer for the Robinettes. All it takes is a little creativity, a little courage, and a lot of practice. And before you know it, Carnegie Hall. (You know the old joke. A New York tourist asks a man in the street, "How do I get to Carnegie Hall? The man says, "Practice practice practice.")

    • Maria

Thanks for the vote of confidence Maurice! I'll get to work, lol :-)

Thanks Dave. I have one more shot to upload. It's a strange one, so I was undecided. You'll see. As for my now rectified computer woes, it was an expensive fix, but cheaper than buying a new computer.
