Corwina Park Hike

Difficulty: Easy.

Distance: 2.72 miles round trip.

Elevation: 6783 feet at Corwina Park and 7383 feet at Panorama Point.

Summary:

This trail is a great couple hour weekend hike the whole family can enjoy. You will see Pine and Ponderosa trees and a small creek running alongside Corwina Trail. Panorama Point has amazing views of Mount Evans and Bierstadt.

Directions:

From Morrison, CO drive 7.4 miles west on Bear Creak Rd (Morrison Rd turns into Bear Creak Rd). There are two parks called Corwina; pass the first Corwina Park which will be on the North side of the road and go to the second Corwina Park which is on the South side of the road. You will cross Bear Creek via a bridge and park at the trail head.

Lunch option: Bear Creak Restaurant is less than a mile West on Bear Creek Road just East of Kittredge. This is the epitome of great local mountain food and drink. It has incredible views of Bear Creek, an open patio in the back, full bar and comfy leather booths. Lots of fun, local art on the walls, including a stuffed Black Bear as you enter.

I won't make the hike. I injured myself yesterday......painful pull or tear in my quad muscle and I am out of commission and unable to walk. I'm bummed. Could be a couple weeks before I can hike again. :-(

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
