    Fun night!
Mike, it was a pleasure meeting you.
Apparently I like "euro" games more than I thought, but they still tend to look more intimidating to learn & teach than most my choices.
By the way, I took a quick peek at Dr. Horrible last night. I will be finishing that later for sure. If Felicia Day is in it it's already worth checking out! :-)

Enjoy Dr. Horrible! You know the thing I really like with games is variety... Euros, yes, but also games from just about any other genre as long as they are well-put together and I'm in good company.

Great taste of some eruo games! Lucas I really liked Rattus and Belfort was a welcome surprise. Thanks for coming Mike and God bless your family with the new home, baby and job. What was the name of the pace in Fort you visit?

Good Euro-flavored fun. Games we played included Lords of Waterdeep, Jamaica, Rattus, King of Tokyo, and Belfort. For me, Lords of Waterdeep and Belfort were the highlights. Unfortunately, we had to say farewell to Michael and his wife as they move north. We wish them good luck in all their new ventures.

From their top 10s, I've got Power Grid, Puerto Rico, Stone Age, Shogun (or at least its identical brother Wallenstein), Ticket to Ride (Asia's my favorite), and Alien Frontiers. From Ryan Metzler's top 10, I've also got Castles of Burgundy. (Metzler's more of a serious Euro-gamer.) I realize I've shared way too many names of games on this page. Sorry about that. I'll just choose one I would like to play. Let me know if you would also like me to bring something particular. I don't want to bring a bunch of games that we just won't play.

I sold my copy of Ticket to Ride last week. I am interested in Belfort. We'll play both and leave it open to a third something. One more person would be nice.

Another great dice Euro I have is Alien Frontiers, or there's also Ascending Empires which is a 4x empire development game with a flicking element.

As we near November 16th, if we don't have too many more people coming to the meetup, perhaps we should lessen the emphasis on Euros since James and Randy are non-Eurogamers.

I'm not certain yet about coming. I've got parent-teacher conferences the previous night, so that'll throw things off a little. I think I'll be able to come, though.
I have a number of possible Euros. Simon mentioned Wallenstein. Some other Euros I really enjoy are Belfort, Hansa Teutonica, Power Grid, and Rattus. I also would love to pull out Noblemen or Troyes, but Noblemen is new to me, and Troyes is a Euro dice game... which could be a possibility for Dice-ember. Any of these games sound good to people?

In that they are both very interesting in very different ways.

I typed this response around lunch time, but my laptop ran out of batteries. It actually goes along quite well with what James was saying... What can I say? Euros aren't everyone's cup of tea... or bottle of beer for that matter. I do enjoy a well-themed game that can get the adrenaline going, but I also enjoy a game that has me debating routes to victory, challenges my problem-solving skills, and leaves me thinking about different approaches to use in the future. It's like the difference between fiction and nonfiction. Both can be done well or done awfully, but I do enjoy reading each from time to time.

Got my DnDeeples in the mail today. Doubled the price of my game so I am hoping it doubles the fun. If not there is always eBay.
