Elk Meadows/Bergen Peak from the lower lot

A strenuous climb and a super fun downhill!! Bring your climbing legs and some good brake pads”

Don't let the description scare you, "strenuous" may not be the proper description.  Its very manageable but its no cakewalk!

This always seems like one of the hardest rides to me but it is still one of my favorites.  It will be difficult if you haven't been riding much but its June so all of you should be ready for the challenge.  Come on up and beat the heat of Denver, it should be a few degrees cooler up here.  The climb is long, difficult and somehow fun.  When you have had enough you reach the intersection of Bergen peak trail and Too long where a rest break is usually in order.  From there its only another mile to the top but it seems like more. We will head to the top for a scenic overlook and then get ready to rip it up in the way down.  The downhill seems endless and then you are back where we started ready for a beer, Gatorade and a nap.

Due to the different pace preferences within the group, we will implement a split start.  Those that prefer a more moderate pace should be prepared to leave the lot at 5:45 sharp.  Those that like to go  faster will usually leave the lot 10-15 minutes later than the first group.  If you are not sure where you will fit within the group plan on the early start.

Getting there: From I-70, exit onto Highway 74 (Exit 252) going south past Bergen Park.  Continue 2.25 miles to Lewis Ridge Road turning right into the parking lot.

Please RSVP if you plan to attend this event

RULES: 1. Don't be late - we strictly enforce a 10 minute rule.  We wait for No One (including myself) for more than 10 minutes. If you are late it's YOUR responsibility to catch up.  We are all racing the sunset.

2. No whining.  This is a VOLUNTARY ride.  If we are too slow, too fast, it's too hot, too cold, or too windy...please stay home and eat Cheetos instead

3. Show up even if the weather looks bad, most times it looks way worse than it really is.  If we can't ride due to weather we will end up heading to a local pub for Happy Hour so your efforts won't be wasted.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.

Henry, started Reno Motorcycle Riders
