Introduction To Web Design: HTML 101

Taught by Rupa DasGupta, an artist, graphic designer and front end developer on staff for Monmouth University, this class will take you through the very basics of HTML & CSS. Students will build their very own website and leave with a solid foundation for further growth.

 Hour 1: HTML Basics

- What is HTML and what does it do

- How does HTML work with CSS and Javascript

- HTML syntax

- HTML components and page structure

Hour 2: Adding our content to a multi-page HTML site

- Formatting text

- Creating lists

- Adding images 

- Linking to content

About your Instructor: 
Rupa DasGupta is an artist, graphic designer and front end developer with a MFA in Design + Technology from Parsons and a firm belief that love and a soldering iron can fix anything. She works as a graphic & web designer at Monmouth University and is also an adjunct professor in the IT department. She has painted over 700 octopuses for her Octopus a Day project and recently launched a wedding invitation design company, Khamzinc LLC. She lives in Asbury Park, NJ with her husband, the poet Michael Paul Thomas.
