Hacking Facebook's Open Graph: Creating Awesome Timeline Apps

Hacking Facebook's Open Graph: Creating Awesome Timeline Apps

With the launch of Open Graph and Timeline, Facebook users can now express themselves through a range of new applications - from music, news, and video apps to more lifestyle-related apps based on cooking, fitness, and fashion.

In this talk, Chris will provide an introduction to Facebook's Open Graph, discussing key concepts and tools necessary to create awesome Timeline Apps. He will draw on emerging best practices from some of the most successful apps to define the keys to designing an engaging experience for your users.

Chris will also walk through Facebook's mobile platform and highlight ways in which you can keep your users engaged across multiple platforms.

Presenter: Chris Ackermann, Platform Partnerships for Facebook.

Chris works on Platform Partnerships at Facebook, where he helps the world's leading media companies and emerging startups build awesome applications and services on the Facebook Platform. Prior to Facebook, Chris was Director of Emerging Platforms, R&D at The New York Times Company where he explored the intersection of media and technology by prototyping new products that demonstrated the shifting ways in which content will be consumed in the future.
