NOTE: we are off this weekend because Yogadesha has a conflicting event. See you Saturday Jan 25.
We sit. In community. In silence. On Shabbat.
Our sits are unlike a class, where a teacher sets a topic and instruction ensues. In our community, you will find meditators with a wide variety of experiences, practices and approaches. We come together seeking the collective support and good energy of sitting together. Join us!
Sits begin at 4:30 and end at 5:30 at Yogadesha in Watchung Plaza. We begin with a brief orientation, offering a few words on intention and simple approaches to cultivate concentration. The first sit is 20 minutes—we take a break to stretch—then sit again for 30 minutes. If the leader is comfortable leading a Jewish chant, we may begin + end the session with one. At Yogadesha, a small donation ($5-10) is requested (please leave money in basket on bench). Consider leaving quietly with no pressure to socialize.
