Do you have a degree or are working in any of the sciences (from physics to psychology, from Astronomy to botany)? **If you're not specifically a degreed scientist, but have at least a BA and read science journals for leisure... you're qualified.

Can you mix laughter with some 'heavy' topics?

Come together for socials, outings, discussions, group exercises, and the occasional Kabbalah Shabbat service...

About me: I've got a Ph.D. in psychology, and used to run a similar group in San Diego. It had 150 members. We had regular get-togethers at different people's homes (or community centers), picnics, outings, hikes, and the occasional speaker from the community. We all respected each other's opinion, and had a blast talking, and (sometimes) disagreeing with each other. The group is driven by our membership social gatherings, discussions and activities, including group exercises, but occasionally we'll invite philosophers, kabbalists, Rabbis, T'ai Chi/Yoga teachers, Scientists, to come and talk about their topic, or the relationship between science, philosophy, Judaism/spirituality and their field of expertise.

Whether you have a BA/BS, MS/MA, or a Ph.D., the idea is that you have some grounding in science/math, and are able to:

1) Think about these unusual topics with a clear head







2) Discuss in a nondogmatic manner & a respectful tone (can't emphasize that enough- if you're gung ho to exalt your opinion and knock other people's perspectives down -this isn't the place for you)







3) Keep the conversation full of laughter(!)

We gather to #1 Have fun, #2 learn, and #3 Share of ourselves, and sometimes #4 Have eye-opening, awareness expanding group experiences (of the non-drug type)
