Donating my kidney was not a JOC activity but it is something I highly recommend.
I'm not asking you to donate your kidney. But I am asking to please support the work of the Halachic Organ Donor Society by running this Sunday in their 5K race in Central Park. If you can't run, then please sponsor a runner.
They are giving out 10 free iPhones to race winners in different a categories (such as pre-teens, teens, women, men, elderly, etc) and a free round-trip airline ticket to Israel. Students of all ages get to run for free.
The Jewish Outdoors Club (JOC) is a 501c(7) non-profit organization that exists to bring Jews together for fun and adventure in the great outdoors. Over the past 17 years, we have gathered for outdoor activities ranging from chilled out social events to daring and adventurous excursions. The JOC is composed of Jews of all backgrounds, primarily modern orthodox, with an age range of 21-45. All events are Kosher and Shomer Shabbat. Events are publicized through an email list, now numbering 3,000 people, as well as through this newly created meetup forum. Since its inception, the club has cultivated a culture that is warm and welcoming.
Come experience the outdoors, nature, adventure, and friendship with us!
