Dear Jim & others,
I'm glad we now have a coordinator, even if it's for a temporary 30 day period. I believe this group is a good way for all Jewish individuals, even those who are unaffiliated or apathetically inclined, to meet with others in settings that are non-threatening, non-judgmental and downright fun. The events I've attended and the people I've met at those events, provided opportunities to talk and learn. As for ideas - (1) perhaps a day trip to a Kosher winery (that would be interesting!); (2) lunch or dinner at a local restaurant; (3) happy hour at a local club (Aperitivo, Blu Stone or?); (4) a day trip to Monsey, Monroe or NYC; or (5) those of us who are affiliated and become aware of upcoming exciting events and/or programs can share the info with the group (like the fabulous CARROT FESTIVAL that Congregation Agudat Achim in Niskayuna has scheduled for Sunday, September 11th. I'm interested in what others think. I, too, have very limited time in spite of my retired status. We all have busy lives. But this group is a good laid back way to remain connected to our Jewish roots with others who share some common traditions and memories.
Please remember to be kind. Sincerely, Cheryl
