Open Doors Group - College Open Textbooks (ODG-COT) is seeking a volunteer Chief of Staff. The position requires 12-16 hours/month and we would like a commitment of 6-12 months. The Chief of Staff will coordinate communication among a volunteer team that includes an Executive Director, three Directors, seven Senior Managers, and a few others. The mission of ODG-COT is to increase access to education by removing barriers including admissions, cost, geography, handicaps, language, technology, and time.
The ODG-COT Collaborative is an association of 29 organizations including 2 universities, a consortium of 200 community colleges, a few publishers, some tool vendors, one government agency, and some non-profits. It acts as the Advisory Board to ODG-COT.
Duties of the Chief of Staff include soliciting and summarizing monthly staff reports and encouraging use of the organization's internal social network and can include facilitating online staff meetings. Most work is done online; some meetings are held at Silicon Valley Education Foundation in San Jose and at local community colleges.
