Yep, it's early but we need to start saving and planning.
If, like me, you'll be going for the entire period, you're looking at approximately R5000. This is for 10 nights' accommodation, breakfast on most days (except when in Hogsback), petrol there and surrounds as well as back again, toll fees plus a smattering of event tickets (about 10-14 shows, depending).
Option A (the main plan - 7 leave days required):
Depart 4:30am on Thursday 27 June.
Arrive Gtown approximately 5-6pm.
Stay in Gtown for a few nights.
Spend Monday 1 July travelling to Bathurst to see the Big Pineapple and have lunch in the little seaside town of Port Alfred. Back in Gtown for late afternoon and evening shows.
Depart to Hogsback on Tuesday 2 July for 2 nights' stay.
Back to Gtown on Thursday 4 July for the rest of Festival.
Depart at 5am on Sunday 7 July for JHB. Arrive approximately 6-7pm.
Option B, C, D...:
-Instead of driving down with us, you can fly down to Port Elizabeth and catch one of the shuttles to Grahamstown. I can still organise your accommodation based on how long you want to stay but you'll have to organise your own flight ticket and shuttle booking.
-Instead of tagging along to Hogsback with us, you can stick around in Grahamstown and enjoy even more Festival madness.
-Instead of coming for the entire period, you can drive down with us and take a flight back home any time OR fly down toward the end and drive back with us.
I'll have to book and pay in full for the accommodation pretty early in the year if we want to all stay together in the same residence. This means that we'll finalise accommodation by end of February and at this point, cancellations will mean a loss of the entire accommodation cost so you'll need to be pretty sure that you're definitely going by end Feb.
