The journey so far…
Section 4 – 14.5 miles
The end time given for this event is the approximate time of arrival at Chappe & Wakes Colne Station if you don’t stop for a drink in the pub near the end of the hike.
Please read the Three Golden Rules of Joined Up Hiking.
Are you OK with those? All right, then you may continue...
From the lush meadows around Fambridge Hall we take a tunnel under the railway to emerge into the patchwork of arable land, picking our way at times between the hedges and fences until we come to the ancient village of Coggeshall for a rest, lunch and wander round before continuing on through green fields with expansive views to the river Colne and the monumental Chappel viaduct at the end of our hike.
