The High Weald Landscape Trail

Section 7 – 16.5 or 18 miles

The end time given for this event is the approximate time of arrival in Rye at the end of the hike.

Please read the Three Golden Rules of Joined Up Hiking.

Are you OK with those? All right, then you may continue...

This final section of what has been an excellent trail is the culmination of the year's day hiking excursions.

Note: for the first six miles we walk eastward to rejoin the trail itself at Smallhythe Place. This is a bit further on from where we turned off to the station on the last hike. I will need to do this missing part in order to complete the whole trail. You can either join me for a quick march of the extra 1.5 miles there and back or else have a 20 minute break in and around the café until we return.

After that we continue together on the last 10.5 miles of the the trail into Rye and will also stop for a picnic lunch a bit later on. You must bring a packed lunch.

We will get an early start so that we can arrive in Rye in the late afternoon and have the opportunity to spend a bit of time pottering around and/or in the pub before the journey back.

This is for energetic hikers only who like the longer distances.

There is a reduced fee of £1 payable to the organizer on the day as the train ticket is more expensive than normal.

Some general recommendations and tips.
