The journey so far...
Section 5 – 13.5 miles
The end time given for this event is the arrival in Guildford by bus after finishing the hike at Rudgwick.
Walking out of Witley station we're straight out into a hinterland of woods and pastures for the whole day, passing through one or two small villages, and stopping somewhere out on the path for lunch. We’ll make another stop in the afternoon at a pub for a drink before the final four miles into Rudgwick. There are no train services here for miles around, so for the first time we resort to a local bus service to get back to a town (Guildford) for the rail connections home.

We will go at our usual medium fast pace with the occasional short stop to regroup and look around. You must bring a packed lunch.

Return Travel: The return journey to London is in two parts:
(1) Rudgwick to Guildford by bus or minibus.
The Arriva 63 Bus leaves Rudgwick at 16:28. Ticket price £3.50.
It arrives at Guildford Friary Bus Station at 17:15. Then it's a 5 minute walk to Guildford Railway Station.
7-8 people can go instead by minibus, from the King's Head car park. This will cost £4-£5 each. I've booked it for 16:30, just in case we couldn't all get on the bus, although it shouldn't be a problem according to a local source.
The minibus will get to Guildford Railway Station at about 17:00. If you're very keen to take this option let me know in advance.
For anyone stopping a while at the King’s Head there are 3 later buses: at 17:12 in the other direction to Horsham Bus Station, and at 17:28 and 18:16 to Guildford.
(2) Guildford to London Waterloo, using the return part of the ticket to Witley. Frequent trains, journey time 35-40 minutes.
