Hi Kacey, If you plan on staying overnight be it in an RV,Car, or tent, then you need to make camping reservations. To do so go to www.JTlake.com. You can also go to www.scdva.org to check out pics of previous years. Look forward to seein you! Deb-Team SCDVA
No charge for parking just to attend. Very casual event. It is a bring your own everything event. So be sure to bring what you need to be comfortable, chairs, food, drink. Go to www.scdva.org and check out all the pics to get an idea of what there is.
There is a central area next to the pond where there are screens/projectors. There is a raised area to set a chair, etc... There are camp sites for RV;s and tents but you have to rent them through the campground (Joshua Tree Lake Rv Campground). I stayed in a Marriott down in Thousand Palms, witch was fine and just about 15 minutes away. I might camp this time but I haven't decided yet. See you there!
In addition we do private parties and special group events. Also available is Astro camping either in tent, car, truck, van or RV.
All done to educate & promote astronomy in order to preserve the dark skies of the California Desert by creating an Astronomy Economy for the local businesses in Joshua Tree and surrounding areas.
Dark sky is good for humanity and the Planet. We are supporters of wise and considerate use of our natural resources and the impact that we have on our environment and the future well being of the Earth. We hope this idea will be one that all people will share in to fix the negative things left upon us from the past and to care about the way we build our future.
