What is your main area of interest?

Hmm. Interesting question to try to answer. I suppose my main area of interest is using what science has revealed about the cosmos and our species' place in it, and using that knowledge to allow me to live a full and satisfying life that's un-influenced by what you might call "super-natural." So, astronomy, for me, has become a never-ending well of awe and inspiration, which allows me to flex my love of skepticism, critical thinking, and the idea that I am a life-long learner, while at the same time, maintaining the difficult and not always fruitful position of being an passionate advocate for these things. I have only attended one star party with this group, but it was so engaging and meaningful to me on several levels. When I started talking with Tom about various things astronomy related, I felt like I was "home" in terms of being among my people. Thanks for the experience, the wonderful people I spoke with at the star party, thank you! I will attend when I visit the U.S. again.

Do you want your registration to include a membership to SCDVA - Southern California Desert Video Astronomers?
