We are doing something a little different this time around for the gong meditation. We are doing a joint event with ChicagoVeg - Chicago Area Vegetarians, Vegans and Raw Foodist Meetup Group -
http://www.meetup.com... We will have the Gong Meditation at 3 PM and then will be going to Fortune Kookie Restaurant around 5:30 pm (
http://www.fortunekoo...) For you convenience it will be two separate events: one is the meditation (RSVP here with Journey Inward) and another one is the dinner (RSVP with
http://www.meetup.com.... This way you can RSVP for both or for only one of the events. Fortune Kookie Restaurant serves regional Chinese food with a few Thai dishes. They can customize your order. They use vegetable oil in their dishes and no msg. Although they are not a strict vegan/vegetarian restaurant they do have many vegetarian appetizers, soups and entrees to choose from. Separate checks. If using a credit card your transaction must be $10.00 or more. Please join us for a fun filled evening in this oriental restaurant! About the Gong Meditation: $20.00 Suggested Donation. Sponsored by the Adult Faith Development Council of Countryside Church UU Countryside Church Unitarian Universalist1025 N. Smith StreetPalatine, IL 60067Location: Atherton Hall Date: Saturday, November 7th, 2009 Time: 3:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. Bathe in the powerful, relaxing, and energizing song of the gong. Ride the healing sound waves, meditate & pray in the harmonious blend of sustained resonance with recording artist and sound practitioner, Kenny Kolter. Immerse yourself in sound with the healing vibrations of the gong. A Gong Meditation will both calm and inspire your spirit. The vibrations can help balance and cleanse the energy in your body. The sound & vibration works at a cellular level and can help with stress, fatigue, depression, anger, and blocked energy. This is an experience you will never forget. Wear loose, comfortable clothing. Bring a yoga mat, blanket or pillow and water and be prepared for a journey of a lifetime. You lay down on your back with your head facing the gong and just close your eyes and enjoy the soothing sounds and vibrations of the gong. Here is a link to some more information

The gong meditation had 40+ people and was phenominal, Kenny was amazing. The Chinese dinner was about 20 of us, only about 6 of us were at both parts. Dinner was great, I think we were confusing them by ordering so much tofu with the vegan group!

Incredibly wonderful again! I love the music that Kenny Kolter creates. The healing vibration, sound and music are awesome. The energy of the room was amazing, a real shift after the meditation to a wonderful state of peace, calm and healing. I am really looking forward to the next time Kenny comes back to do another Gong Meditation! Kennys talents and gifts are a true blessing.

My favorite part of the evening was the gong meditation. My first experience with the use of gongs in my meditation practice. The church which held the event was great.
