Ali Amr at Countryside on December 26th

Please join us for a special service at Countryside Church Unitarian Universalist (CCUU) on Sunday December 26 at 11:15 am. This worship service will feature the music of the qanun, the haunting and transporting Middle Eastern zither played by Ali Amr, qanun virtuoso. Ali Amr is from Ramallah in Palestine and is a student at the Berklee College ofMusic in Boston. Of his playing and this service, Rev. Krivchenia says, “I was blessed to have heard Ali Amr play in a worship service at the Lutheran Church of the Atonement in Barrington last winter. His music amazed me, lifted me up,carried me away to a beautiful though troubled land, and sang of humanity at our best. I encourage you to attend this worship; it will be a welcome break from the food and whirlwind of the holidays and a peaceful and perfect family experience. Come be reminded of the land which is holy to so many people of faith Muslim, Jewish, and Christian. Celebrate our noblest hopes, and let outstanding music lift your soul.”
