The Joy and Challenges of Changing Careers

Hi everyone,

I decided to take the organizer position for this group because its mandate and activities are so similar to two groups I am already running in Toronto. Both these groups have become active/highly active in a relatively short period of time, and I am so pleased to see the level of interest in this topic.

What I do is significantly influenced by career author Barbara Sher*, and her principle that in order to have career success, you must "do what you love", and I truly enjoy helping people find and pursue what they love. Another of her principles is that you design your change program based on who you are, not somebody else's idea of "what successful people do"! What a relief, to stop trying to fix, change or improve yourself! :)

My first group, www.meetup.com/successteamtoronto has weekly meetings, primarily for career changers but we work with life goals as well. Because of its small-group intensive format, if you are interested in attending this group, please, in addition to RSVPing, send me an email and introduce yourself.

My second group, www.meetup.com/notyourtypicalnetworkingevents has monthly networking events and Idea Parties.

I do not plan on organizing any events specific to the "Joy and Challenges" group; I will be inviting you as members to my other two groups' events. Like I said the events are relatively frequent; it is my sincere hope that this meets your needs and expectations.
