Join us for a talk about one of the most popular and ubiquitous text editors on *nix systems, vi.
Originally written by Bill Joy in 1976, vi is the de facto standard text editor on Unix. Vim is an extended ("iMproved") version of the editor that provides some additional functionality. Vim is likely to be what you get when you type "vi" into your shell.
This is the second in a series of talks on text editors on Linux. The previous talk in this series was on emacs.
