Participants Needed for Dance Project
Dance Company W & M Physical Theatre is looking for 10 immigrant women to participate in a dance project called Inventories of Bodies in Movement which is taking place from September 2nd to September 8th.
We are looking for participants aged 16 to 65. Dance experience is not required. These participants will be an integral part of the process as their stories, their backgrounds, and their individuality will add a unique element to the subject matter of the piece.
Requirements and Specifications:
Time commitments: 9:00 am to 4:30 pm. September 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th and 8th.
Rehearsals: University of Calgary
Ages: from 16 to 65
Payments: participants will get pay 300 $
Legal status: participants must be permanent residents or citizens
Time in Canada: we would prefer if participants have less than 10 years living in Canada
Performances: there will be two small outdoor performances on Saturday September 6th and Monday September 8th. Location TBA

Inventories of Bodies in Movement: is an interactive dance project that speaks to the identity of one’s self to the cultural and social constructions that define how universal subject is perceived in our modern, multi-cultural society. Through the creation of this choreographic project W and M will bring experienced dancers and non-dancers together in the performance of a new choreographic work.
The key artists in this project are Wojtek Mochniej, Melissa Monteros and Christine Fricker from France.
