The 4th Sunday Jam at Skeeter's Schedule

  • May 26, 2013 · 2:00 PM
  • This location is no longer available

Just continue on the much requested bunch of Jammin. Bring what your got and make it a time that is easy for you. Doors will be open at 11 am so you can come and go as you please up until 9 pm. I will not put a limit on this for attendance. Just understand that it will get a bit crowded with 10 or more here at one time. Be ready for some outdoor acoustic if it gets a bit crowded inside. Let's Jam !!!

Very fun but too loud. There was a good pace: we got through lots of songs without a lot of messing around in between. (Thanks Keev and Steve.)

Sorry; The idea of jammin at parks around my neighborhood is pretty well shot unless you plan on acoustic. The usually only rent out the parks for certain venues and are pretty costly.
I agree with Jenn to work on some classical and smoother songs with Dave K. Sorry he felt so out of place here in the jam !!! So did I.. Was really sad that we couldn't hear Lesli's voice. But I'm sure it will get better in time. Think Frankie would be awesome to put some smooth jazz style fills behind her great voice. Push forward jammers... Make it the best it can be...

Alright; Finally got some positive feed back on the jams. First off; I agree that it was WAY too loud. My home is NOT a studio situation. I love the idea that less is more. I love Rock & Roll as much as the next Rocker, But I really love to hear the music and vocals in the same song. I was pretty sure that I mentioned that it was too loud a few times. Several is more like it.....I believe that this is it for Loud jams at my place. I will continue to host 1 or 2 jams a month at my place for acoustic and softer electric situations, such as porch swing and so on. Mark has a very good set up at his place right now and if he agrees we can continue at his place 3 times a month.

louder than shit. vocals were at optimum levels for the place and you guys drowned 'em out. we had a new member and he pretty much bowed out because of the chaos. i told him about the acoustic interchange at mark's so he'll try that when we meet up there. i'm going to recon that park near skeeter's so we can use that when it gets hotter. there's a riser, power and space for everyone to jam. you can play as loud as you want. i'll post details on that location soonest.

Hey Naz. Apparently I missed you - I got there real late. You're right, it was real loud. Leslie has so much to offer and on some she was being drowned out. I don

don't like her being in that position. (or my ears.) I've tried so many times to get people to bring the volume down and met with resistance I don't even try anymore. It's a toughy. Maybe we could designate a time for the loud stuff - or specific songs. Anyway, I'll stand behind you. I'd love to jam at the park near Skeeter's. Thanks for checking it out. But ya know, even there, we have to keep our shit together. We can't blast out people who are there for a lazy afternoon. Take care. Will probably see you at Mark's.

Lots of music, talent, food and drink at this one also. Got to meet Dave K, one of our newest members and Lesli jumped on board also as a full member. Some talents that are greatly appreciated in this group. Rock'n Rick brought his great jammin Guitar slingin' compadre's Steve and Zeeve and they really helped keep the pictures a shakin' in the house. Very long jam as a few members showed up before noon and the jam went on until 10:15. Thanks again to Marz, Johnny, Victim, Diane , Jennifer & Naz for all the support.
Sorry that we missed Bold as Blues with Frankie, Drew and Robert in Downey, but I hear we had a few members out there to support them. I will try to schedule a little better in the future so we don't miss out on our members gigs. Thanks again for all the talents, donations and presense you bring to the jams. See you next week at Marks.... Jam on !!!!

Also want to thank Drum Cat Mike for his return. It was truly great to have him in the mix once again. Hope we didn't tire him out he worked his tail off.

Greetings fellow jammers. I wanted to reassure you all that I would never compromise our jam site. I've been a member for a few years now and I consider Skeeter a great friend. I changed my password as suggested. Jam on, hope to see ya down the road. BL

well, in case anyone is interested in jamming, there's a studio in North Hollywood that will only cost $20 total for 3 hours of jamming.

this guy posted the pics on craigslist and it seemed to have full drum kit and pa ,etc.

I am a cheap guy! It free at Skeeters except for the membership fee.

      May 25, 2013

    • Jennifer G.

Thanks for the info, Mark. That is damn cheap. Someday we might need it. I bet you we'd get some other kinds of players over there too. Maybe some more vocalists, pianists, horns, drummers, strings. We could use them! Maybe it'd be a good place for once a month. So many potential players consider us too far east.

I think I can make this Memorial Day weekeend get-together, and Steve Kroh should be tagging along with me. This will be our first jam since the Chaparral Lanes gig which I hear has already reached legendary status. Keep on Rockin' Jammers!
