JDB2J at San Berdoo Mkt Night 7-16-13

Naz has set up several nights at Perris Hill park in San Bernardino. We have done 5 gigs to date. It is very easy to access and the playing times are flexible. We normally set up around 5pm and start playing at 6.

Skeet & Murph were going to open but duty calls for Murph and the dynamic duo will reschedule later in the series. I'd like to see some acoustic numbers done to open, solo or accompanied. Could be off the menu too. I like 'behind blue eyes' the who, 'ramble on' led zep, 'dust in the wind' kansas, you know...

By the way, this evening we are "Junk Yard Dog"....

A quick change to the basic: It WAS going to be baseball night but team committments scratched that and we are reverting back to standard jamming attire.

Rules of Engagement apply: 3 guitars at a time in rotation. Jeff is conductor, Mark controls the back line, I monitor db levels, enforce rotation.

Since Skeeter isn't coming, I'll hump the drums for you but I get in around 6ish so anyone who would like to solo or perform some acoustic work to open the gig, feel free to hop up on a stool and play.

current list for mkt night:

Red House

Seminole Wind
Love Potion #9
Keep Your Hands to Yourself
Jet Airliner
Secret Agent Man
Kansas City
Crossroads
Roadhouse Blues
While My Guitar Gently Weeps
No Matter What
Take It Easy

added:

Day Tripper

Proud Mary

Suzie Q

Honky Tonk  Woman

What I Like About You

Knock on Wood

Mustang Sally

and by popular request: Bingo Blues!

Again, this is a composite list of songs to draw off of. It is partial and we can add rehearsed songs in at will.

When I got there, it was already humpin'. The big boy drum kit made a difference as did the PA. Only slight adjustments were needed. Other than that, it sounded great. Thanks to SBPD for taking care of Jeff's groupie and everybody that stayed and helped tear down and load. see ya saturday.

Sorry to hear about Skeeter. If it all goes well at the rehearsal tonight, I'd like to help out with the vocal for a few of the songs.

I'll be there at 5:00 but I'm not going play or bring any gear - I'll be there as a roadie (to help set up) and as an audience member.

Sorry; Murph had to pull out due to teaching in Long Beach. Think maybe we can do something in August or Sept. So you all need to give Naz some songs to list.

NAZ, you need to understand these are not ISOLATED COMMENTS. Stormy went around and interacted with the audience and vendors while the band was playing each time, and quite a few shared that opinion. I have NEVER claimed to be the PHILHARMONIC nor want to be your 'school marm'. If all the rest of the crew truly believe that the performance is good enough and requires no further practice or rehearsal, then so be it. I doubt if everybody agrees with you. I have seen what some of these guys can do and the performances are NOWHERE near what they are truly capable of !! What a shame! Some of them have amazing talents and we need to do everything possible to support them and provide them with a chance to shine and not just to GET BY and fill the time slot !! BTW, a general song list for ALL to play is NOT the same as a set list and I believe Jeff understands the difference.

I JUST WANT TO JAM. It is very hard and pretty costly to commute to San Berdoo once a week plus support San Manuel. But this has to be done if i want to jam. I feel the points of all parties and no longer would like to be associated with train wrecks in public. I will no longer participate in a song if I feel that it is not positive to both the performers and public. Practice or don't play it. That's my voice on the subject !!!

Awesome, I'm outta town for a few months but when I get back I hope to be able to join to JAM. Best, mark salkin

We really want to throw in some Gut Bucket Blues and duo action into the mix. If we have any jammers that would like to throw in some vocals or leads or harp.... Lets us know...
