Hello Fellow Chicken Lovers,

I just posted this on the Discussion page, but I decided to email as well, because I am so distraught! I had two chickens, and one was killed by a raccoon last night. I have secured the coop, put on some talk radio (to scare the raccoon) and set a Have a Heart trap just in case. Any more anti-raccoon suggestions? I am also worried that my lone lady will be depressed, (if?she stays alive!)?She is a 5 month old Rhode Island Red. Does anyone have suggestions of where to get one or two similar aged birds to be companions for her? What should I be doing to keep her happy? I am a new Chicken raiser.
