Hobby farm--what kind of chickens are they and are they all pullets or hens, not roosters?

We have six wonderful 5 month old chickens looking for a happy home. They    are friendly and about to lay eggs. We have raised them since they were chicks and unfortunately need to now find them a new home. If you or anyone you know has a place for them please let me know.
Thanks!
Liz

Hi  Molly,

I took in a bird that was found on the streets of Carroll Gardens last month and quickly learned that it was a young rooster.  Luckily I found someone who took him up to a farm in Hudson, NY where he is very happy.  I had posted on RescueMe and just got a response yesterday from someone willing to take him. You might give her a try:

Another option is Safe Haven Farm Sanctuary. Bill Crain, the Director, offered to take the rooster as well.

I had no idea how difficult it would be to re-home a rooster until confronted with the situation. Good luck!

Subject: [Just-Food-City-Chicken-Meetup-NYC] Oops! We have a rooster.

Hi Everyone,
We have a bit of a problem.  Our Barred Rock "hen" seems to actually be a rooster.  We got "her" without knowing the sex and thought she was just not laying because of molting but after "she" started crowing at 5:30AM three days ago, we're pretty sure she is a he.  SO we need to ship him off to some pretty farm asap as roosters aren't legal in Brooklyn.  Does anyone know a place that would be willing to take him?  He's a beautiful bird - bright yellow feet and pretty feathers - healthy.  I should have known when we named him Handsome (like Bea Arthur) that he was likely to be a male.  Any help would be appreciated!
Thanks,
Molly
