Thanks so much to all who responded.  I will try some extra calcium, decoy eggs, fake exploding eggs and some extra entertainment in the evenings to stop them getting bored.  Although they do appear to kick the eggs out of the nesting boxes onto the floor I still think these are peck marks rather than impact damage ...
