Last night in the storm some water leaked into the coop - not enough to drown the birds, no more than a small puddle on the floor, but enough to get them wet. I don't know what happened then - looks like they panicked and attacked each other. Two are dead. One is still alive but with awful head wounds. It's still taking a little water and food but I don't see how it can survive.
The local vets (in Brooklyn) won't deal with chickens. I could leave it indoors to die naturally, but though it doesn't seem to be suffering that seems like a cruel option. I know I should kill it myself but I'm finding that hard to do. Any advice?
