I am finding myself with the same dilemma here in the Bronx. I am fearful of letting my girls out today in these frigid temps. They usually free range in the yard, rain or shine, and can go back to the coop, or other hidey hole place around here during the daytime if they wish...but today and tomorrow, well I just don't know.
I'll be following this thread closely. Thanks all...Sherrill
What is everyone doing with their chicks today in Brooklyn? I have my hens shut up in their small hen house right now - we have a 10x8 covered run with plastic sheeting around and plenty if dry hay inside but afraid of frostbite and the wind. Should I let them out or keep them in? Thoughts?
I put Vaseline on their sensitive bits last weekend but could probably use another coat...
