This group is the re-creation of the original Just For Women group organized by Leigh. We are for women who are fun loving, open minded, want to make new friends, participate in a variety of activies, explore a bit of Houston, and plan to be active with us. Those who want to be part of a dynamic community of supportive women. If you joined ONLY for the activities, then this group is probably NOT for you. If you are joining primarily to form new friendships, be part of a community of supportive and fun women and secondly to experience the fantastic activities that we have, then please read on.
We are a wonderful, diverse community of women*: All ages, married, single, divorced, mothers, childless, work outside of the home, stay at home moms, diverse ethnic, religious, and racial backgrounds.
Let's meet, expand our circle of friends and enjoy activities such as: Dining out, festivals, multicultural events, sporting events, book discussions, camping, dancing, wine tastings, concerts, jewelry making, happy hours, pottery, horseback riding, potlucks, music, theatre, conversation, shopping, fitness, the outdoors, movies, weekend getaways, chocolate, day trips, piano bars, shopping, art galleries, local music clubs & pubs, coffee shops, tea rooms, lectures, the symphony, slumber parties, museums, resale stores, discovering the Houston area, and whatever else we want to do.
Allow yourself to get out of your comfort zone and live a little, the greater Houston area gets smaller the more you see of it.
We maintain an active membership policy. To maintain your membership YOU MUST attend at least one event every three months to remain a member. In 2010, this will change to a minimum of one event every four months. Also, "no-shows" aren't acceptable. That is, if you reserve YES for an event and do not show up your membership will be terminated. We want considerate members who really want to be part of this community of dynamic women, plan to be active, and ARE active in this group at least once a quarter!
Membership is for women only. In 2009, membership is FREE but effective 1/1/2010 there is a $20.00 per year membership fee. Also, you must have a recent picture of yourself posted and respond to ALL membership questions to be considered for membership. After you're approved you will receive an automatic email from the Organizer. If you don't see it please check your Spam or bulk mail folder as it was delivered there.
