Here's a good one especially for those of you who live north of Raleigh.

PARADE Note: On your way over to BB, you might want to see the parade in downtown Raleigh. RALEIGH - The largest military parade of its kind will take place in downtown Raleigh on April 26th, complete with an F-15 jet flyover and displays of military vehicles from the different branches. The Salute to Our Troops Event will begin on Saturday, April 26, at 10am on Fayetteville Street in downtown Raleigh. Kicking off the parade will be a flyover by F-15E Strike Eagle jet aircraft from Seymour Johnson Air Force Base in North Carolina.

In case you don't have Adobe to see the .pdf, it says meet at Bikers Blvd at 10am. I'll probably see the parade in downtown Raleigh and get to BB after 11. Kickstands up for the Pete Hick Awareness Ride at Noon. Party after at the Granville CBA clubhouse on Highway 50.

Some of you might know know about what happened to Pete Hicks, so I will tell the tragic story the best I remember. Pete worked at Bikers Blvd. It got very dark, and he was heading home to his family. It seems that someone sawed down a tree on a dark and desolate road that Pete traveled up in the Creedmore area. From what I understand, to say the police investigation was inadequate would be a severe understatement. It is believed that Pete didn't have an enemy in the world. There has been some speculation that someone who lived on that road didn't like hearing a motorcycle ride by, and may have done this intentionally. At least that is the story I remember. I do know that this left one or more children without their father. My apologies if I got anything wrong.

There is no word on whether or not you will be asked for a donation to help his children.

If Pete were the Mayor of Raleigh, the Governor, or a prominent businessman who donates to politicians coffers, do you think this would have been solved by now?

It was a very good local ride with police escort, and the weather could not have been better. I didn't see anyone else there from this group. What's up with that? You missed another good one.
