Hey Jeanne, here are some of the sites I told you about, plus some others I might not have mentioned. Other people could use these as well, they are pretty good for anyone already at a more or less intermediate level.

    1) watch kbs news (click on 플레이어 보기 or 팝업 보기 around the middle of the screen)- http://news.kbs.co.kr/news/NewsList.do?replayVod=Y&SEARCH_BROAD_CODE=0004&SEARCH_SECTION=0001&; 2) watch lectures on various subjects - http://www.kocw.net/home/index.do

    3) Gloss - some Defense Language Institute site with lots of stuff you can read and listen to. You can order stuff here by level (1 to 4) or topic also. http://gloss.dliflc.edu/

    4) Viki : watch drama with subtitles in lots of different langauges (you can turn the subs off too if you want) - http://www.viki.com/

    5) Lingq: lots of stuff to listen to and read - http://www.lingq.com/

Wow. Once again Sean comes thru with some very good info. All my resources are so old school. His will definitely be of as much use as mine and you don't need to bitter with an application process.

Also, for practicing speaking, here are two other good sites: 1) https://www.verbling.com/community || Just click the green start group button on the community page to make a group. You might have to download something to use Google hangouts and/or make a Google+ account (free), since study rooms on that site are in Google hangouts.

We should try having a meet-up to practice Korean on Verbling sometime, assuming everyone has a microphone and a decent internet connection. Not only would there be no travel time, but I imagine people who are perhaps a bit more nervous about speaking Korean might feel a little less pressure if they are just talking with a mic, they can't be seen, and they have their computer in front of them with dictionaries, phrase books, and whatever else that might help them to get across what they want to say.

    2) http://www.sharedtalk.com/

I'm not fluent in Korean, do you think it's best for me to take some Korean language classes b4 engaging in any language exchange?

    March 25, 2014

    • Bea 미.

I don't think so. You can help Korean speakers with their English and pick up some basic Korean words. ^^

Interested. Waiting for more details before I can commit.
